I was an athlete before I became a fashion designer. Influenced by my sports experience, I decided to become a sportswear designer.I try to bring some new elements to the sportswear, so that it has a certain decorative while ensuring movement. In fashion design, I pay more attention to the structure and silhouette of clothing.
Gowns, skirts and pleated pants. It’s hard to imagine a sport that would wear such a costume. This is the origin of football – Cuju. People have an image of athletes running around the court in tight, high-tech fabrics. Such sportswear increases functionality but decreases ornamentality. And I think sportswear should be decorative as well as functional. So I used a combination of traditional football sports clothes and modern sports clothes in this project. Cuju.

The aim of the project was to blend modern street sportswear with Cuju, a sport played in robes. Cuju originated in Tang and Song Dynasties. Cuju was a game used in military training in which two sides kicked bamboo balls into a goal suspended high in the air.
Research
During the investigation in vintage shops, I found that some sports clothes with loose But poor breathable fabrics would use some special structures to change the details of the clothes so as to achieve the effect of breathable. I hope my series will use the outline of ancient football uniforms, the way of putting them on, and the details and fabrics of modern sports uniforms. Thus, while retaining the function of sportswear, it has certain decorative features.
In the design process, I took the folding caused by wearing habits as the starting point of the silhouette. Try to reconstruct the proportions of ancient football clothing first. And then you overlay the clothing to try to incorporate the ancient sportswear -- the robe, the blazer. At the same time, I used the earliest weaving method of bamboo football to create a pentagon hole with the method of superposition. To change the structure and details of clothing, increase the interest in clothing design.
