I am a creative, dedicated and hard-working individual with the ability to face challenges and solve problems skillfully. Being in an artful environment has given me a deep sense of artsy features, especially in the interior and material field, and has given me a passion for architectural and spatial thinking, which has raised my interest and development through research and experimentation.
This design practice explored how to build an interior space to explain the definition of ‘sustainability’ within the making process of brand-new materials. Interested in the biomaterials that are produced for architecture and interiors nowadays, new biodegradable materials are made using wastes from the kitchen or household. Further developing the hidden features of the materials through testing and experimenting is one of the aims of this project, as well as investigating the favourable and the unfavourable factors by applying handmade materials in an interior environment. The purpose of this proposal is to deliver the facts behind waste disposal and approaches established by the interior design industry. In addition, how the community will respond to the circumstances and their willingness to react as a small part of society on a local and international scale. The outcome will show a blueprint of the material production system which involves workshops on craft-making and interactional space for the local community.

Introduction to EGGO
To begin with, I am interested in the new biomaterials that are produced for architecture and interiors nowadays, such as applying re-used ceramics to new constructions or working with oyster shells for interior elements, etc. Taking this as inspiration, I have produced my own material with the name ‘EGGO’, which the main ingredient is eggshells. However, I have only exploited its aesthetic feature so far. Therefore I started my project based on this material to develop its other aspects that fit within an interior context.
Design System – Blueprint
After the first few stages of research and experimentation with materials, I decided on the typology of the space, which will be a collection of mobile workshop containers traveling worldwide, in which the process of making items made from local food waste will be presented. This is a blueprint for any city and can be placed in any open space. This is followed by the site allocation and activity programme, which summarises the functions and lists the basic equipment for each space, as well as a guide to operations for staff working there and participants visiting the site.
My project will be based on the blueprint that can be placed in an open space of any city, achieving the concept of a temporary space, where this mobile factory remains in one city for a period of time and then travels to the next place. Food waste disposal is not a national issue, this applies to every country, each with its own most wasted food. The use of mobile spaces in this way allows local citizens not only to have a deeper knowledge of food waste from their own region, as well as a broader recognition on an international scale.
According to my experience process on making EGGO in a professional environment, I have listed some spaces to apply in my programme: mainly would be the kitchen, casting and 3D workshop providing complete equipment and tools to work, along with a waste recycle centre where local people can drop their own food waste, as well as a showcase room which items produced in the workshop would be displayed.
Design Space
Technical sketches are shown in this stage with details and human figures for all eight containers. There are exploded isometric drawings that reveal the composition of the interior space along with zoom-in activities happening in each space. Finally, one of the eight physical models is produced using the method of laser cutting, following a photoshoot with 1:50 human models.
